I am waitlisted by Columbia SIPA for its MIA program. Is anyone here in the same boat? It's so painful!! I haven't heard a thing since I faxed them my waitlist response form.

I'm waitlisted at SIPA, do you think it's a good idea to request an appointment with someone at admission's committee? I don't want to be pushy, yet i have a lot to loose. any ideas are welcome.

Good luck to those of you who are still waiting to hear! I am sure it won't be much longer.
Does anyone know what will happen to those of us who are on the waitlist? I faxed them the waitlist response form but haven't heard anything since then. Just wondering when I should be hearing from them... This wait is so awful!

I'm waitlisted!! Does anyone know if the waitlist is ranked? Now I won't know until the summer, more waiting AGHh..

I heard that they have a way to track the number of times an individual logs into the application website to check for a decision, and the remaining 20% of decisions will be based on that number. The admissions committee is using it as a sign of "how bad we want it."
But you have to be careful and not check too often, because there's a specific number (I won't say what) that is a sign of mental instability, and that will definitely result in a rejection.
So... try to find the middle path.

It's almost the end of the work day and there's still no decision. In fact, I don't think anyone of us here heard today. I wonder if they are sending anything out today... Probably not.

I'm willing to bet that the only people still waiting are admits with funding and rejects, and that I'm in the latter group. Sadface.
It'd be a bad bet to make though, so I won't do it.
