I looked into the program because I really liked the accelerated thing, and I feel like the program itself is decent. I was a little worried about whether they truly covered everything in the shorter time frame, but obviously it's accredited and seems to get it all in! Honestly though, the thing that turned me off was the location. I don't know where you're from, but Stockton is kind of a mess of a city in terms of crime rates, quality of life ratings, etc... I kept on seeing it on those "most miserable cities" list. Maybe I spook too easily, but that was kind of a turnoff to me and ultimately I decided I didn't want to live there. I'm definitely not trying to be negative, just encourage you to research the city in addition to the program! I'm sure parts of the city are fine .
Thank you so much for your input! I'm sort of familiar with Stockton so I definitely see what you mean about the area being undesirable. I just felt I had to apply given the fact that I would be an slp that much faster and, I can live anywhere for 15 months, right? I never expected to get in, I figured they would be more competitive given the acceleration of the program. I'll probably try to go to the open house and check it out. Part of me is nervous that 15 months isn't enough time to become a competent slp? I'm not so sure but at this point in time it's just nice to have an acceptance

just got accepted into the 15 month program at university of the pacific in stockton!! Anyone else? Anyone have some info about the program? I'm very excited although I know it's pricey...

Anyone have any idea whats going on with Chapman?
-
Anyone have a clue how many portland state has on their wait list?
-
Just officially declined my offer to UW's Core SLP program. One of the hardest things I have had to do in a while. It really sucks that finances play such a strong role in deciding where I end up going, but that's life I guess.
aww I'm sorry to hear that. Where did you decide on going?
-
waitlisted at u of o! If you don't wish to attend please let them know asap!
-
Starting to wonder if schools just don't want to make a decision about me..I am still waiting to hear from portland, chapman, and u of o! ahrg should I call the departments??
-
still haven't heard from Portland State or Chapman, when so many others have, discouraging....why do they make us wait?? I would just like to know already, either way.
-
At my interview on 2/24 Chapman said they would have their decision by today...so far nothing...my admission status still says decision pending. Anyone hear anything?
-
I emailed PSU and they said that letters will be sent out next week...I'm guessing since I didn't get an email I'm looking at the waitlist or a rejection. oh well!
-
Do you know if they're sending out emails, or sending letters out in the mail?
I would like to know this too as next week is my spring break and I won't be home to get the mail!
-
Chapman changed my status to "decision mailed," eeek!
Mine still says decision pending Does this mean anything?? I hope not bad news!

I just received this email:
"This email is to inform you that your University of Oregon application for the Communication Disorders and Sciences continues to be in review.
I expect to mail letters of acceptance and denial by mid-April.
Thank you for your patience and good luck on your review!"
Ohhh the wait is killer!
I recieved this e-mail too. Mid april!??? REALLY?

I had an interview with chapman last week and I did have to fill out a writing prompt afterwards. there were a couple other applicants in the room with me and it looked like we all had different prompts. how do you think you did?
I'm not sure. I was a little nervous, but I really want to go there especially after the interview! I wonder how many people got interview invites and how high my chances are...uhg such a slow day today. No mail or emails! Sending good vibes to you all hoping we hear great news soon!!
-
I also heard they have been interviewing so I just figured I wasnt one of their choices. Where did you hear they were interviewing through April 15th? Does that mean we wont hear any decisions until after that date????
Chapman told me they should have their decision by March 15th.

Does anyone know when were expected to hear back from university of oregon? And the question about who PSU accepts...I would like to know too. Portland is an ideal area to live in although I know very little about their program other than it's in the basement. I can't stand waiting until April to know where I am going to be next year. It's so stressful! Not to mention once we find out, finding housing and all that jazz....I am just glad I have this support system. I hope we all recieve good news soon! <3

Anyone who went to a chapman interview, did you also have to fill out writing prompts afterwards?
-
Anyone ever heard of a personal interview writing prompt? I got emailed a list of questions and told that I must answer them and submit it by 5 pm. I just found this email and its almost five...yikes! I just had my face to face interview with this school yesterday. The questions are specific about the field. I am so confused! Do they just want a writing sample? Anyone else heard of this?

I must have written that wrong on my stats area. I applied to university of pacific in stockton, not pacific university.
WAIT SCRATCH THAT I READ MY EMAIL WRONG..April 1st not March 1st. whoops!

Hey Folks, I had an interview today for one of my programs and I have been contemplating writing her a thank you letter and sending it in the mail. Anyone think this would be a good/bad idea? Do people do this sort of thing for grad school interviews? thanks!
-
Hopeful1234, did you mean Pacific University instead of University of Pacific? Cause I noticed you're applying to Pacific University....

Anyone have an idea of when Chapman will let the rest of us know!? It's the last school that I am waiting to hear back from...I'm pretty sure I won't get in but I'd just like to know already. Thanks! <3
