My name is Claudia Saquicela Novillo I have been awarded a the most prestigious scholarship from my government in Ecuador. I have applied to Masters of Public Administration at Florida International University and I was accepted. The problem has arisen that my government will not fund programs in public administration but rather only Public Policy.
I have researched myself and the MPP vs. MPA do overlap, so I would love to have your opinion in this matter. There are two websites that clearly describe this point.

I have even printed the most core curriculums of American universities that offer MPA which basically are the vast majority more than 180 and in a minor quantity the universities that offer MPP.
In fact, advisers at Florida International University did a good job sending me a letter explaining that the programs are really similar. What I would love is a letter explaining how the programs are the same and how they differ in general. I figure if any organization other than FIU has the prestige to convince them, yours is it.
So please, I can furnish more information, but generally how are they similar and how are they different. Exactly in what kind of careers would someone pursue with the different degrees.
