BreeAnne: For what it's worth, I grew up in Houston (and have temporarily moved back), and I think it's a great city. It's not like New York, so you have to work a little harder to find the fun stuff, but there's definitely a wealth of entertainment, good food, etc. You might want to think about getting a car, if you can afford it, because we're not a walking city and our public transportation isn't too great. Also, we're fairly metropolitan, and a port city, so don't expect to see too many of those gun-toting Christian cowboys from society's collective unconscious.

Well, I got an interview for NYU and, though I assumed that I had been rejected from Columbia, I wanted to make sure since it would save them money and me time if I only went to New York for one trip. The woman told me that they had already sent out all the invites. She wasn't exactly polite, either.

For what it's worth, looks like Columbia has sent out all of their interview invitations for neuro.
