  1. UC Berkeley has some great online courses - I'm in the middle of one now - that are entirely online. The link is: http://learn.berkeley.edu/ The only downside is that you pretty much have to teach yourself, which can get a bit tiresome/confusing. But it's highly convenient, especially if you're overseas and worry about accreditation and whatnot.
  2. "Honestly," you don't know my personal situation - but thanks for the judgment call! In short, it has nothing to do with whether my act is together or not. I currently live overseas, and due to circumstances I am no real choice but to take the course online. I am essentially teaching myself everything. This isn't exactly the easiest thing to do (especially with a brand new topic), hence why I want to know if others have heard of any kind of "plan b".
  3. I too received word that I would need to do micro before fall registration. The morbid question on my mind is, what happens if you don't pass the course? Is admission typically revoked? And I thought the stress was over once all my apps were in... :|
  4. I was also at the Open Day, and I walked away with a very good impression of the school. Yes, it is expensive - but like nearly everyone (including GPPI, funnily enough) keeps telling me, there's no better place to study policy than in DC itself. So many NGOs and other organizations are headquartered there, which gives me the impression that it would be easier to get a good internship during the school year. I love all the international opportunities they offer, and I felt the staff and faculty were all really friendly and welcoming. With regards to scholarships, I overheard one of the staff members saying that GPPI doesn't have as large an endowment as other schools, hence the low scholarship offers. Don't know how accurate that is, of course, but it makes sense. Obviously, the above is only my impression, but I'm pretty sure I'll be going to GPPI next year.
  5. I tried calling NYU today and all they had was an automated message saying that decisions for applications submitted by Jan. 15 would be sent out by the end of March... sigh. I haven't heard yet either - it's slowly driving me insane! I'm starting to assume that because I haven't heard by now, I've been rejected. To those accepted - was it via email or did it direct you to the applyyourself website?
  6. I've heard nothing from NYU either. I wish I knew what kind of order they were sending acceptance/rejections in. Right now, no news seems like bad news.
