  1. I think you still have much reason to stay hopeful...In my situation, it seems as though I might be rejected from many programs ranked in the twenties, and was accepted by one arguably within the top ten. As long as you are a good fit for some of the top tier programs you have applied to, I think you have every right to be optimistic about your chances for acceptance. Keep in mind, sometimes lower ranked programs might assume that you would not decide to matriculate if you are an especially strong applicant-this might be the case for you! Stay positive-I am sure you will be surprised by where you will end up come fall!
  2. Continuing to work the two jobs at which I am currently employed (I did work full time throughout my BA so this is a vacation!). I am so excited at the prospect of joining a program next year that I just can't concentrate on anything I do at work!
  3. Therein lies my dilemma! The only reason I am considering UCI is location and a couple of faculty with whom I have coauthored some works. ThisSlumGullionIsSoVapid: thanks :-) I am still in shock! GRE: Q 160, V 165, AWA 4.5; GPA 3.87 (Double major with Bio Sci). 2 forthcoming pubs (both coauthored), undergrad fellowship.
  4. Just got accepted to UCI with a very competitive package; I live 10 minutes away from the campus and this has made the decision so much more difficult. I never thought I would be fortunate enough to be in the position of choosing between programs; I am really torn between a higher ranked program and UCI.
  5. Just checked my email and just got my acceptance and support for the full 5. Congrats to everyone!! Woohoo!
  6. I keep vascillating between common sense and panic; sometimes I feel that Indiana will almost certainly extend offers to all interviewees (barring a meltdown during the interview), but the idea that interviewees will be culled based on their performance sets in. Its all so exhausting!
  7. I am seriously in suspense-I was really hoping that today would be the day :-/
  8. So, I just had my interview with the DGS...She was really sweet and although I was fully expecting to be interrogated, it ended up being very informal and casual. To those who still have the phone interview looming on the horizon-honestly don't sweat it! It was a great process and was really informative; barilicious was absolutely on the mark with his description of the interview. Good luck to everyone!
