I will be accepting UMSL's offer and declining the rest this weekend. Best of luck and don't give up hope yet to everyone on the waitlists. I was on the waitlist at UMSL originally.

I have been accepted to 2 I/O Ph.D programs with no publications. I do however have an extensive work history.

I was moved from the shortlist to accepted at UMSL. I was an alternate at SLU which I turned down.

Just got an update from UMSL that I made my way off of the shortlist and was accepted.

Got a letter today from FIU saying I was not accepted for their Ph.D program but was accepted to their masters program. No worries though, they were the bottom of my list.

SLU emailed me. Im an alternate.

Checked the website for FIT and decision was updated to ACCEPTED! My first acceptance. So happy right now.

I would recommend checking out the SIOP website. There are actually segments entitled "What Do I-O Psychologists Really Do?".

Thanks for the info see_bella, I got the exact same impression from my visit. Everyone was very personable. I still have not heard anything from them as of yet but I am hoping that they will send out their responses early this week.

FIT emailed me this morning. I made their shortlist of finalists. They will be scheduling an interview with everyone before their final decision.

Attended the visit day at UMSL yesterday and loved it. A top notch program with an outstanding faculty and extremely friendly students. Would be very fortunate to attend this program.

This sure has been a slow week for I-O!

I visited the SLU campus yesterday. It was pretty amazing. Everyone was extremely nice and I came away impressed enough to put them at the top of my list. They also said that their answers will be out within the next few weeks. They switched the application system up this year and had to work out some of the kinks to get it up to speed.

I can relate Erik. I applied to six schools, and so far I have 2 waitlists (UMSL, UCF), 1 rejection (USF), and a visit with SLU tomorrow with nothing official either way. I am still waiting to hear from FIU and FIT. Part of the anxiety comes from I-O being one of the last types of programs releasing information. Even without being accepted yet I still am confident that I will get in somewhere. A person can only attend one program and we just have to wait for everyone to decline the programs they are not planning on attending.

Nope not yet. With their early deadline I kind of expected to hear something soon. However they were the only program that asked for 2 writing examples, so maybe they are still reading them.

Caitlinelise10, have you heard anything at all from FIU yet? Seems like something should be going out pretty soon.

Received an email from UMSL tonight. Was placed on the shortlist and invted to the visit day. Not exactly an acceptance but still very excited.

I will also be attending again this year.

Not sure if this means anything but I just got invited to the Graduate Open House at St. Louis University on March 7th.

Quader is right on with his post. Out of all my programs, the only one that even mentioned a pre-visit was Florida Tech. Even then it was just a recommendation. I flew out there on my own money and have yet to find out an answer if it was worth it since their deadline was Feb 1st and they have not yet sent out any answers.

I currently live in Las Vegas but applied to programs in Florida for 4 reasons: 1) the fit was there 2) I used to live in West Palm Beach area and miss it 3) my sister-in-law lives in Orlando so my wife would be happy 4) I hate clode weather!
