agreed. i'm fairly certain that no school could sway me from the one i've gotten into, but it's pretty mean of the schools to leave everyone in limbo when they know the decisions. v-day's over, guys! you can break up with us now!

chit-chat question: if i have only ~1 semester of my language and am entering my program in the fall, would y'all suggest doing something hardcore like middlebury this summer? or would a regular summer language class at a local class be ok? there's no right answer, i know, but any general thoughts would be helpful...

also, which is worse? getting emails from people who are not universities, or getting general v-day emails from random clothing stores/hair salons/gyms that i don't actually belong to because i am lazy?

so obviously a number of people on this thread have been successful in their second or third attempts, but in general, is that a thing that happens a lot? i have a great gpa and scores from a top school but my statement and writing sample were pretty blah (and my language skills are a work in progress) and i'm pretty certain I'm gonna go 0 for 6. do a lot of people reapply? is this a common thing, and if so, is the previous application considered at all? i just feel like i didn't send out my best possible app. alright. i'm going to spend the next hour forgetting about grad school and instead hating myself for watching the new girl. zooey deschanel is the worst! but growing on me? discuss.

I'm aware that this is probably a repetitive question, but since I've read about 30 pages of this thread without seeing an answer, here goes: is no word (and no interview) from Yale at this point a clear sign of rejection? Sorry to bother you! /Can I just say that this forum is making me nostalgic for the days of college confidential back in high school? Was anyone else a big contributor to that huge pile of neuroses? Because I was. Ooops.
