I got rejected from MIT so far...I think that while I did have a high GPA, I did not take an extraordinary amount of advanced classes or anything. I did research for a couple of years, but no publications, so I think it must have been letters of recs (which i think i had above average recs on all) and the personal statement essay? I think a lot of the times it comes down to whether or not your interests fit the profile of the research professors there. Good luck to everyone!

yeah sure. I got accepted into columbia, harvard, stanford, and princeton for PhD in EE (i'm assuming i will get my masters first because I only have my BSEE). I am not sure yet where I will be going, I will be going to all of the visit days in order to see where I will fit in best. Good luck to everyone!

Yeah sure no problem. I'm a US citizen, and I attended USC for my undergrad (will only have done my undergrad). I believe my recommendations were good. I don't think they were extremely spectacular or mind blowing, but I'd like to believe they were really solid. One was from my research professor, and the other 2 were professors I had in classes. No I was not. I was told that I would that I would get an email in March in which I could report if I wanted to attend or not.

Oops I apolgize, my Q score for my GRE was 770.

I got an email from my adviser that they chose for me, followed by an official email, and then I got the letter and package in the mail about a week later. My stats are: BSEE - Top 15 school GPA - 3.94 (Graduating in 3 years) GRE - 590/800/5 Research - 1.5 years, no publications Hope that helps. Good luck to everyone!
