I see, thanks for the reply ! I was just hoping to see if gradcafe has an international audience that might have some more into the university.

EDIT: Im not really particular about working in the US, as long as Im able to get a job which is what matters

Hello folks,

I'm planning to undertake my masters in computer science engineering for Fall 12. I already have a few admits from the US(RIT, ASU and USC). However I also got this admit from Tampere University of Technology,in Finland. I'm primarily concerned about the cost of my master's degree and the job prospects afterwards, education in Finland is free, but Im not quite sure about the job prospects afterwards/ the repute of the degree, any help in this regard would be appreciated. I hail from India, if that matters.

Thanks for the reply folks! Im quite sure of wanting to go into the industry rather than do a PhD. But unfortunately, waiting for a year and reapplying to Cornell will be a non-option for me , since quite frankly I'm becoming an old man . Moreover, I come from a non CS undergrad, I was looking at taking up the courses at RIT and( hopefully) doing well in them and then transferring to Cornell, and possibly finish off the (M.Eng ) masters in a year.The major attraction to Cornell of course is the brand name and repute, I'm not quite sure whether RIT shares that or is a brand school that way. Your thoughts on that would be great too. Thanks!

P.S. My focus is the industry and NOT the academia

I have an admit at RIT for the fall session of 12 for masters in IT, but I realized pretty late that I would like to go for the MEng program at Cornell. Would it be possible for me to transfer (credit as well) from RIT to Cornell , provided I keep good grades at RIT ?

I've applied to the Information Technology program at RIT for the Fall intake, But I dont hear it being mentioned much on gradcafe. It'd be great if someone could tell me how good/bad it is in terms of jobs and industrial reputation.
