Hey,

Harvard specifically said that they'd only send out a decision via mail and not email et al. Though this might be a case of a POI  writing to the candidate. Also a few weeks ago I remember there was a post about an interview with Harvard, definitely a hoax. So there is no saying, really :-)

 

Though I have no affiliation with Harvard, based on my partner's experience last year, they notified accepted people via email or any other ways faster than official mail and requested skype conversation (sort of interview for helping decision). So no reason to consider the posting as an evident hoax, I guess.

Chicago interviewed thirty and is making another cut from that group, then doing campus visits. They are supposed to notify as of today (!!).

Hi, where did you get the information? I was interviewed by them too, but my POI didn't mention the specific schedule. Just a bit curious. This is nerve-breaking...

radiomars: I suppose so. Seems optimistic but be prepared for another interview or visiting!

I'm invited to Emory for the visiting weekend in the end, while I was going to give up the possibility due to other guys' early postings. Just begin to get everything set for the chance... Nervous but hopeful!

Received an email from my old adviser saying that UCLA Anthro adcom is currently reviewing apps and that I should feel comfortable with my chances. Not too shabby.

 

Congratulation radiomars! Now the major schools are coming, ha?

Last year U Chicago interviewed the finalists (though some of them got in without interview). U Michigan traditionally doesn't interview before providing admission, I heard. I think most of schools request skype call after the decision whether it is official or not...

By the way, I saw a posting that an interview via email has been requested. Anybody has info on that?

Oh, I missed the name of the school which requires interview... It's Emory.

I didn't receive anything from UMichigan. I applied to Sociocultural... Did you apply to a different sub discipline?

Submitted my application for 6 schools. U Chicago, Stanford, U Michigan, Columbia, Emory, and UIUC. Just begin to wait!

Hi all,

İ am joining the thread today, looking forward to any news from the schools İ applied for. İ've just found out that Stanford sent out a request for interview. Does the department require interview in general? Any comments & information will be welcomed:)
