i interviewed last year. unfortunately, i totally collapsed and was extremely inarticulate...it was better for me that i didn't get in! my interviewers were very pleasant and professional, although i have heard stories about interviews going awry at that school. the program has good cred and even better funding...plus it's NU!! c'mon! the only negatives to the program are the studio spaces (you'll see what i mean) and the size (only admit about five students)...other than that i would highly recommend it!!!

Oh yes, the program has my full interests, no question. I just hadn't ever heard of anyone's experience in the interview. Thanks for sharing! Dose their interview differ from any other schools? How many professors talked to you... I was thinking of opting for the phone interview since I live so far away... hmmm... Thanks again!

I just heard back from Northwestern University, I am one of 23 finalists to be interviewed for their Art Theory and Practice program!

After almost 2 months of being on the wait list, UC Irvine rejected me via a generic PDF sent to my e-mail address...

They also rejected several other applicants and sent their rejection PDFs to myself and everyone else on the mass rejection e-mail list.

To add, they kept a book I specifically made to use as my portfolio after my interview there. I thought they kept everyone's portfolio, but found out otherwise later. All attempts to retrieve the book back have so far been unsuccessful.

I noticed earlier that another guy on here got a rejection and an acceptance PDF sent to him from UCI. They are seriously unorganized. Great offer if you get in though, what with the tuition remission and all.

Next year I don't know if I will try applying to UCI again.

Okay, so I think I have been biting my nails enough now to have gained a few pounds off of the calorie intake, waiting to hear back from Irvine.

I saw one rejection and one acceptance posted here. I called the department at UCI to see what was going on, the lady who I was on the phone with told me that a decision was still pending for me, and that it was a good thing because I am "still in the running."

People... "still in the running" is not rejection, but its also not acceptance. So I ask here, is there anyone out there in the same boat as I am in this situation with UCI? The anticipation is driving me crazy!
