I applied to both CSUDH and CSULA I got in and now im trying to figure out with one I would love to attend im sure you will hear back soon GOOD LUCK!!!

CSUDH... the old saying says - one bird in the hand is better than two in a bushel. I prefer DH because they offer the community mental health component. LB only has CYA and gerontology... I am interested in neither.
I got in to CSUDH as well and I love the area and the fact that they offer the classes needed to obtain you License, But I also got into CSULA and they have a very well known program but dont offer classes need for you License. So I am having a hard time....

my goals is to become a children youth and Families social worker and later earn my PHD and become a professor or my earn my LCSW and go into private practice...I guess I am asking how does the academic opportunities offered at these school compare...ie networking job offer after graduation, and which school would be right if I want to transition it a PHD program or become LCSW in the future,

Yes, I agree about being fiscally responsible, and I like the idea of taking a stand and sending them a message!
But, can anyone also let me know their thoughts about my last point - possibly going onto get my PhD and the role that an ivy league or private school plays in that?
I have similar goals and I really dont think so but then again im not sure, However I do know that paying a lot for your masters then paying more for your PHD can be a bummer I would whether get my PHD from a prestigious school down the road.

Hey Charm, I am thinking about attending Cal State LA also, has anyone replied to your question above about the program? I would also like to know of someone who has experience with the program and how that's going for them.
Thanks!

No one has got back to me but my counselor said CSULA MSW program is one the oldest program in cal and it has a great rep. I got into USC but it is to expensive and CSULA program holds just as much weight but I am trying to decided between LA and CSUDH because you can get your Social work license from there because they are one in 3 of the campuses that offer the classes you need for your license in their MSW program. Have you decided what school you are going to? we might just be COHORTS =)
