just fyi, when i was grad school interviewing I had a professor (who had friends either at the nsf or ones who somehow knew about the grfp) tell me that he heard they were shooting for 3 times as many awards this year. still doesnt give reason for the delay (I'm dying here) as this was a full month ago, but at least gives a little info and help...

I'm most likely accepting an offer (still trying to negotiate funding and waiting for nsf grfp). Anyone looking at the on-campus grad housing? I wasnt going to because I have issues living with 3 complete strangers, but if anyone else is in the same boat maybe we could talk and not be strangers!

is it just me, or did the fastlane page change? you still cant select 2009 on the award year menu but the page has a 2009 Offered Award List heading up. maybe I just overlooked this before. I think I'm going crazy...

I have received financial packages from 2 schools. My top choice is a fellowship that is a full $10K less than the other. I really want to attend my top choice, but this is a big $ difference. I am already covered under my parents' health insurance. The fellowship includes this as well. Is it appropriate/possible to negotiate the $ that would be used for health insurance to be added to my stipend?
