  1. I just wanted to let everybody know that in the event that you graduated in Dec. 08 and your mailing address changed (AND you specified that on your application anyway), the IIE will probably still send it to that address. That's what they did to me and so while they really did send my letter over a week ago, they directed it to an address I no longer was receiving mail and it had to be forwarded to my permanent mail address.
  2. Does anyone know if they (the FSB members) make the decisions one country at a time or if instead they do it in another process to explain why notifications for the same country come out at different times?
  3. does anyone know if its common to receive email notification before the snail-mail notification? Or why they don't just notify everyone through email in the first place and then send the hard copy acceptance as a formality?
  4. Me, too! My letter is supposed to go to my house while I'm in Memphis at an internship. I've been bugging my parents about the mail every day for nearly 2 weeks now and I'm surprised their still answering the phone when I call--they know exactly what I want (I guess they're grateful that for once, its not money!). Good luck to everyone else impatiently waiting (I think we have been patient long enough!).
  5. Yeah, from what I gathered from our Fulbright adviser, once its in the hands of the host country, nobody knows what happens and even if the advisers might be able to get some "inside" (therefore, early) info about the secondary step (when our apps are sent to NY from our school). Waiting is agony not to mention frustrating--for us and for the unfortunate souls having to be around us while we wait! By the way, do we know for sure that the NY office sends the letters via first class/priority post like a previous post states, or will they do regular mail (which takes much longer)?
  6. Good idea! Greece (Europe)
  7. For anyone that has applied to Greece, I just spoke with Rachel Holskin and she said the letters are being mailed out today. Does anyone know if these letters come from the host country or the US?
  8. Ok, thanks, I'll do that! I thought the only people that would know were the committee members in the country itself and its hard to catch a person to speak with when they are eight hours ahead...
  9. I'm a Greece-Fulbright finalist...Has anyone applied for Greece or heard from the Greek Fulbright committee yet? Also, are interviews with the country committee normal? My school never said anything about those...
