  1. I found volunteer work by emailing multiple private practices. You can even make cold calls. I've noticed its getting a little more competive but look beyond what in front of you. Check all kinds of rehabilitation centers, special disabilities camps, day cares. Also you have to be willing to travel. I had to take a bus and two trains for one of my volunteer places. In the end it worked out because she wrote me great recommendations and I got into graduate school. Not to mention you can start networking. If all else fail you can volunteer at a hospital and try to get placed in their rehab department.

  2. This is my second year applying so I am not surprised that I haven't heard from LIU-Brooklyn. I was told via phone that I was on the waitlist and then I received my rejection the day before my birthday last year (5/10). I did know people who were accepted though and found out last February.

The only reason I am not surprised we haven't heard back yet is because all NY schools were allegedly suppose to notify all applicants at the same time. This is what I was told at my NYMC interview and I can't help to think that it may be true because we haven't heard from most NY schools yet and last year people heard much earlier.

I called today and the lady said supposedly about a month :(  <_< . When you received your notification last year was it  online or by mail?
