erry3779, just 80%? Come on...99%! lol....That's what SIPA told me yesterday: "Decisions began being announced on Wednesday, March 14th, but are nowhere near completed" and again "thanks for your patience". I guess I will hear next Friday at 6pm or something like that haha. Imagine if it's a rejection after waiting for so long...lol
So....who is going to go to SIPA for sure?
I am!! Put down my deposit yesterday... It's been my dream for a long time.
-
I am so so sorry you all are waiting... That was the worst wait.
My letter was dated 3/14 but I heard 3/22 for those who were asking. Also, sorry I implied that the admitted student msg board could give clues about acceptances in certain tracks. That site is not that useful, I came back here because I missed you all!
-
For those of you still waiting, what are your desired fields of study? I ask because I do think they evaluated applications by that... as in dcenergygirl and I found out at the same time and both were Energy and Environment Track.
I also notice on the admit site that certain tracks don't have any messages/postings/members yet...

Mine says : We look forward to working with you !
Submission Status: Not Submitted
Is yours the same ??
Yes mine said the same exact thing, until they posted a link to the Decision.... It will be apparent, trust me

Checked the website and I got in!!!!! Concrete jungle where dreams are made of!!! Here I come!

energypolicy23 i wonder if they're debating over the two of us, we seem to be pretty similar... all i have left is completely random speculation.
"research has shown that people can tolerate uncertainty for only so long." from a random nytimes article on phobias, http://opinionator.b...0phobias&st=cse
but at least something to keep your mind busy for another 10 minutes or so.
this makes a lot more sense. almost makes me feel better about not having heard yet.
Oh wow... that's the first theory that actually makes sense to me!! Since I didn't apply for a fellowship, I turned my app in at the same time as everyone... etc

Hahaha thank you, my stomach issues and anxiety has just been through the roof... my body needs to calm down eventually. The thing is, you got in to Berkeley, I am waitlisted. That's why I slyly asked you the other day if you were not going to go ... We did both get rejected from HKS and WWS though...
Anyway if I don't get SIPA, which is my hands down first choice (always was) I'm going to try my darndest to get off the Berkeley waitlist. Fortunately, I work with a lot of Goldman people in my line of work, so I feel like I can make some connections there.

COME ON!!!!!!!!!
-
I wish they had posted their stats... not that this ever makes me feel better.
-
I didn't apply for a fellowship/ask for funding, thinking that it might approve my chances of admission. At the very least, I highly doubt I'd be considered for any first year funding since it is a limited amount and I did not have a stellar undergrad GPA (my work/quant experience since undergrad is the strength of my application, which is why I've been upbeat.) So I have no idea at this point. I feel a waitlist coming.
Same same same

Oh I forgot to say how I was notified. I was checking the website and it finally came up. Ten minutes later got an email saying to check the website.
Great, my strategy of refreshing the website every minute is a good one ! Good luck at Madison!

Just heard back. Rejected. Good luck to everyone who's still waiting!
noooooooooo!! so sad to hear... we've lost one of our best forum poster buddies.

9:00am in New York. After a less than relaxing weekend, I get to spend another otherwise stress-free day at work constantly updating applyyourself, this forum and the results survey.
Welcome back friends.... sorry I didn't put my reply above. I really have nothing more to say as hudwa put it perfectly. Here's to another unproductive work day.

I wish I could agree with you IRToni, but trust me, my application will NEVER get funding. I had horrible grades, but good work experience, so it stands to reason that there would be a bit of controversy about my application. I'm afraid they're probably still just deliberating over those who they're on the fence about.
Yeah same here with my undergrad GPA...
-
So they never send the letters over the weekend?
It doesn't look like anyone last year found out on a weekend... (March 11/12) or (19/20)
-
thanks so much for calling again hudwa... agree that this is ridiculous... I don't understand how sometimes they attribute it to "the system" needing a day to process the decision, but then indicating that decisions have all been finalized... and then saying "most" would be released by Monday or Tuesday.
grr.
-
I nominate you to call them today and see what's up! wwsapp and I called yesterday to remind them we were waiting they said they were going to release decisions yesterday and the next "2-3 days" but from these forums that doesn't seem to be the case ....
-
Part of my fretting has been trying to make sense of it and put it in some kind of analytical framework so we can guess when we'll all hear back next. But unfortunately it's looking like you're right: people are bring notified seemingly at random, thus increasing the pressure on those of us left without results. It seems to me this system of notification was conceived without attention paid to forums like these. This kind of public agonizing and frustration with the SIPA administration, all on record for years to come, can't be good for SIPA's reputation amongst prospective applicants.
I absolutely agree... but then again... what do they care? They have like 2600 applicants anyway, can't hurt to narrow down the pool. Maybe THAT's why they received at #29 ranking amongst US News's Top Public Policy schools.
-
I also applied to IFP and have heard nothing via email or on the myapp page. Congrats erry, and everyone else, deep breaths.
Not to go on too much of a tangent... but DC Energy Girl... would you give up Goldman for SIPA??
-
Congrats erry3779! Also... I did not apply for IFP, and still haven't heard... womp womp. Checking email and the applyyourself obsessively doesn't help.
-
sorry... everyone on here I am sure is normal, and we'd all be friends once we get there (but never admit outloud we were on these forums refreshing the page a thousand times)... I'm just feeling like a crazy pants. I hope we find out tomorrow, I don't think I can bear waiting the whole weekend!

Sad I won't see you on April 10th... Decided the $500+ trip to NYC right now may not make sense given I'm saving my pennies from here on out!! See you in August!!
