So I'm usually a cynical old curmudgeon, but I honestly am wishing the best for everyone, and hope those that need this award get it. My original guess was 100 more awards but I hope it's more.

Just doing my part to get us to 200. I'm not even caffeinated yet. Disappointing. In any case, I hope my prediction of June 1st will be beaten - but I'm still skeptical.

Well since May 1st came and went, my new estimate is: June 1st, 100 awards or less. I really don't think that this long wait indicates a boatload of awards, it's just indicative of the red tape and the money being tangled up in bureaucracy. Actually, the longer it takes, the less convinced I become that they will give any new awards at all. I'm thinking any of us poor saps in limbo should just work under the assumption that we aren't getting any $, and pursue jobs/TAs/PAs/labs from there. It's easier to give back a TA-ship than beg for one in July... See you in June...

I thought my previous estimate of May 1st from a while back was conservative, but at this point I'm going with a greater likelihood of the swine flu by that deadline....

I'm waiting to write the 'thank yous' until I find out if I'm HM, win an award (haha- pipe dream), or get rejected (who knows, really). The status will determine how many exclamation points/how much groveling....

Well it's interesting they are updating this daily now. The '2 week' count started April 14, meaning the official 2 weeks from 1st posting will be April 28. Of course we all know this is not a strict deadline for NSF.

Eh I'm not convinced any of this means a massive windfall for GRFP. May 1st. 100 additional awards. Calling it.
