  1. KBR29 I emailed them when I received my offer and that is what they replied with.
  2. I would not do it. I have loans from undergrad and no matter how much money you will be making I dont think it will be worth 200k worth of loans. Just my personal opinion. But I do know how it feels to want to be in school working towards your goals because I contemplated taking lots of loans out again, but I refuse. I would just apply for other programs and wait it out. I hope you find a solution and do what's right for you.
  3. In regards to your question. I think it is a little harder to get into hunter/ Brooklyn. I can only speak to Hunter but I know they take a very small amount of students every year and since their program is so inexpensive a lot of people apply. I read somewhere that their acceptance rate is 21%. I could be wrong. I know that they must look at different things when weighing the acceptance since Hunter makes you do an interview. Hunter states the following " The admissions committee has filled the fall 2012 spots with applicants who presented as the most competitive in the application pool. Spring 2013 acceptances are given to those applicants are qualified and demonstrate exceptional potential, but may not have been as highly competitive in their application." I honestly think that the interview can either be good or bad. In my case I think it was a little bad because they have an on the spot writing sample, which I think hurt my app. But if you are not that strong of an applicant, going and presenting yourself as highly capable can improve your chances. Good luck!
  4. So I don't know whether to be excited or a little upset. I got into Hunter, like I wanted, but I was accepted for the spring semester and not the fall semester. Nyu accepted me for the fall but only with partial funding. So now I'm just trying to decide what I should do. I called Hunter's office and they won't reconsider the offer. I don't want to wait a semester but I guess I have to. If NYU gave me full funding I wouldn't even have this dilemma. A has anyone else made a decision?
  5. YS. It does look like it was a mass email. I would call to see what the hold up is. They owe you an answer no matter what they choose. Hopefully you are accepted. I also received my funding, very little scholarship and the rest loans. Still deciding and waiting on Hunter. Ugh.
  6. Thanks angelwinks16 and yellowsubmarine! I'm very excited. I was accepted into the school counseling program. Angel- I heard through email. What program did you apply to? I'm wondering if they send info about their scholarships. Does anyone know about NYU scholarships/ financial aid? I'll try to call the school on Monday. Hopefully I didn't miss anything since I was just accepted. I wanted to see if someone in one of the programs would give their opinions. Probably a bit of a stretch. I'm really hope I get into Hunters program. I heard Hunter is a bit more selective. I really liked the vibe when I went for my interview. And of course the price is great. If I receive money for NYU that will make my decision easier.
  7. Hi, I was just accepted to NYU and I'm still waiting on my decision for Hunters program. I would like to get opinions from people about the pros and cons to each. Besides money, the actual coursework, job opportunities, etc. Did anyone get into Hunters program yet? I'm leaning towards Hunter, if I get in, unless I receive money from Nyu. Thanks!
