  1. Hey guys, I'm searching for an apartment/roommates. If anyone is interested, let me know!
  2. I got into Rice's MEE program and I will also be attending. I've never been to Houston before so I can't help you there. And yes, I am looking for a roommate.
  3. I'm going to be a first year MEE grad student this coming Fall. My university offers no funding for this degree despite all my requests. Does anyone know any way to help foot the bill? It seems like grants and fellowships are reserved for PhD students and university fellowships are for students in the MS/PhD track.
  4. Any ideas? Decision time is this week.
  5. The only university that accepted me (from my first pool of applications) was Rice. I wanted to do an MS in EE, but I was accepted into the MEE program. After that, I applied to SJSU for their MS program and am waiting for the results (I think I have a good chance of getting in). My question is, how difficult (if possible) would it be to switch from MEE to MS once I accept Rice's decision. If it's too difficult, would an MS from SJSU (with possible funding?) be better than an MEE from Rice?
  6. Ok. Sounds good. I was also thinking about waiting until the deadline. On an unrelated note, are MEE programs (masters in electrical engineering or any masters in engineering, I think) generally 1 year programs?
  7. Thanks for the responses guys. I thought I was the only one who hadn't heard back, but I see that I am not alone. How long are you guys going to wait for responses (i.e. if you have backups or other options, how long before you choose that rather than wait indefinitely)?
  8. I applied for MS in EE at various UCs and I'm still waiting to hear from a majority of them: UCLA (no news) UCSD (no news) UCI (no news) UCD (no news) USC (not a UC, but still no news) It's already April and I know most colleges follow the "unofficial" April 15th deadline, so is it normal to wait this late to hear from a university? I'm starting to panic here! I contacted UCD for a response, and this is what I got: The PhD and MS admissions process, while not officially concluded, is virtually over. Please keep in mind that while it is possible that more students will be admitted, it is far more likely that there will be no more admits. If you do not hear back from Graduate Studies or the ECE Department by April 15th, it is safe to assume you will not be admitted this year. Sounds like I'm going to be rejected
