/awards now reads... The 2012 season awards system is not yet open.

can't log in either (though I also don't expect the award)- but I can log into the application so I'm going to guess this is real/no award. but keep the faith! if you CAN log in please let us know so we can start drinking!

yup. is there any one who CAN'T log in? (sorry!) I think in years past you could log in but not update contact info?

the key (from last years thread) is to ask if they have received the list from the DoD yet- the awards go out same day or next day from what I can tell. Until they get the list, they'll say April 15. Once they get the list they'll tell you they have it. *fingers crossed!*

also- called today and they still haven't received the list from DoD so no awards until at least Monday, though probably later.

NDSEG site : FAQ -> Other FAQ If I am awarded, can I defer? The NDSEG Fellowship can be deferred only under exceptional circumstances and with approval of the DoD; if you are accepted, you must start in the fall of that year. You will not be able to defer the NDSEG Fellowship if you were awarded another fellowship you wish to use instead. Situations in which the tenure may be extended with prior approval of the DoD are: The fellow is invited to do research at a DoD laboratory or test center for one or more summer periods. The fellow's graduate institution does not offer an appropriate program during the summer months. The fellow is granted a deferral due to another extenuating circumstance.

this thread is so tame compared to NSF! anybody called recently to check on when they'll release the results? In years past, they'll tell people via phone within a few days of the actual date... I'd also like to ask-- if you win the fellowship and find out via email, PLEASE brag about it here! (seriously!) in years past they've sent out rejections later and sometimes via snail mail.. I'd like to know ASAP if I do or don't get it so I can immediately start drinking. Thanks!
