  1. Haha that would be awesome. But then there's that annoying fraction of a sliver of a chance that it could affect chances for next year and whatnot. It's a kind of weird idea to post their updates on a public forum where the 95% of applicants who are rejected are allowed to comment and vent. But please be advised that I may be nitpicking because I'm in a really sour mood about fellowships.
  2. Whoever is in charge of their facebook page really enjoys the phrase "please be advised"
  3. Wow, has anybody else gotten a phone call? Did they follow up with an email or any info about logging into their site? Congratulations.
  4. Jeez. Judging by the lack of activity on this thread I was starting to get hopeful about a smaller number of applicants, but those odds are worse than ndseg
  5. does anybody know about the odds of winning this fellowship? I applied for it, but have been figuring it's very competitive and unlikely. But I realized that I actually don't know any statistics.
  6. The last date to decline/accept an award is Apr. 26 so we may not have an absolute answer until then. In any case, let's say that maybe 10 more decline their awards whereas there are ~2500 remainining uninformed applicants. Given those stats (and my suspicions about how far down the waitlist my own application probably stands), I feel comfortable putting this thing to rest and moving on with my "No Fellowships Plan B." If I happen to hear anything positive about getting off the NSF HM waitlist or NDSEG mega-waitlist I will just consider it a very unexpected surprise. Best wishes to everyone on this forum. I think that everyone who's pursuing a PhD in the sciences and has their act together enough to apply for this fellowship should be commended for that alone!
  7. Thank you very much for this information. So the awards all were determined at the same time. I now know for sure to stop having any hope that they're "coming out in waves", etc., and can get back to focusing on other things. I'm still really frustrated by the poor flow of information from the ASEE itself but am glad to get this answer.
  8. Although there's a small possibility that some departments just haven't submitted the list of awardees yet, surely there are many people who are already definite "no"s and I think they deserve a notification at the same time that the acceptance notifications went out. GIven that notifications were promised by today and for many people (like me) it's also the deadline to make important grad school decisions for next year, I'm really frustrated by still being left hanging at this point.
  9. I agree with the above posts -- far better to just find out in one clean sweep of notifications that you were awarded or not, rather than this prolonged process. If anyone from ASEE looks at this thread, please take note!
  10. After briefly looking through last year's thread, it seems that the steps were: (1) people were first able to check whether they could log in and see an award letter or not, and then (2) emails went out a few days later, with everyone who was initally unable to log in being rejected. So I feel almost certain that we're just between (1) and (2) right now....just being realistic, although I did not read the 2011 thread in great detail.
  11. Congrats to people who won. My strong sense is that the rest of us are out of luck.
  12. Haha nice, could you log in that way and see your award letter? I could enter my username and password using your javascript, but still got the message that they were incorrect.
  13. ...the "me neither" in response to not having no letter on my awards page. I think it only can be accessed if you remained logged in before the page was taken down.
  14. Me neither
  15. Hey Dasgut, did they say if the awards are going out today at all?
