Well, I didn't get an award, but I'm still curious to see my review sheets. Has there been any indication on when those will be available?

What happens if you like to write as a hobby, and then happen to get a book (unrelated to your research) published while under NSF? Will they not like that?

It probably means "I have no idea what's going on."

Do you think that, by pointing out errors on their webpage, we can prove how smart and hard working we are and become more likely to get fellowships? Or are they just going to think we're smarty-pants know-it-alls?

I had that feeling about today...

76 pages. (I'm being optimistic.)

I don't have any concrete funding for next year at the moment, but I doubt my department would let me drop. Still, if I don't get the NSF, the course of my research may be forced to change, depending on the type of funds that are available.

Anybody got any ghost stories?

I want to split a pie. That sounds really good. I'm not staying up all night, though. As soon as I get done grading this undergrad homework, I'm off to bed. Man, undergrads have the strangest (occasionally dumbest) ways of going about problems.

So when the page comes back up, it will have the lists, right? Right?

I'm very disappointed in you, NSF, so very disappointed. Stop messing around and just give us what we want!

I'm starting to think it's just a big joke. They're not giving out the awards this year, and somewhere down in the Caribbean the NSF people are living it up like kings.
