Education wise? US history, 19th century, Military history. Civil War, Mexican War. Political history from 1814 to 1877. Sectional conflict and the roots of the Civil War.
Employment: I currently work on professional development programs for New York City public school teachers as an evaluator.
Other interests: Japanese history and culture and language; astronomy; evolutionary biology; geology. All manner of geek stuff (video games, roleplaying games, LARPs, manga, anime, comics, computer games). Lots of TV and movies (Supernatural, Star Trek, Star Wars, lots of crime shows, Top Chef, Project Runway, loads more). Handicrafts, such as sewing, embroidery, crochet, knitting, and spinning. Music, including playing the drums. In short, I'm all over the map; I'm definitely leaving stuff off this list.
There isn't enough time in the day...
Prior education:
NYC public school. High school at Stuyvesant (class of 2000).
SUNY Binghamton (2000 - 2004); dual degree: BAs in history and East Asian Studies
IU Bloomington (2005 - 2007): MLS, library science
I took the GRE in 2000 and again in 2001. The analytic section morphed into writing during the intervening decade. I got the same raw score (-10) though my math percentile plummeted. Oh, well. It was good enough. Hopefully, your score is good enough, too.
