Hey guys,
I'll join Tech next fall for PhD in Civil Engineering.
I have a couple of questions if anybody can help.
How expensive is on-campus housing (GLC) compared to off-campus close neighborhood ? I know GLC is $3,889 per semester but I have no idea on how does an off-campus but close to campus (on a walking distance) furnished apartment cost.
Don't you think it could be interesting to go to on-campus housing at least for the first year ? It might be helpful to meet more students and get easily into the Tech Social life experience (I'm an international and I don't know anybody there).
Thank you for any thoughts sharing.
I'd say have the European experience and then think about Harvard later !
a bird in hand is worth two in the bush... especially that this experience would bolster your chances to got into Harvard!
Hey Guys,
I have been offered admission for a PhD in structural engineering in both GaTech and UCLA and I have a hard time deciding!
The research area is not really an issue, since both my potential future advisors are working on research areas I'm interested in.
I'm an international student, I cannot visit...
Any advice would be welcome... Thank you!
