  1. I agree with sympatico. I am also empathetic in your plight of recommendations. What I have been doing in order to expedite this process is researching MFA programs that I see other forum users have or have not been accepted to, and looking at the work of past/current students and more importantly, faculty.
  2. I'd recommend taking a year off from your BFA to pursue your MFA, a lot changes post graduation IMO. Regardless, you should definitely post a link to your work on here, I doubt anyone will be able to assist much without a visual.
  3. This is my first post. I am a recent graduate of MassArt (Painting) and beginning my trek towards applying to grad schools for the fall of 2013. I am looking for any and all advice on what programs to apply to that focus less on concept and more on mediums, techniques, and color theory. I realize that these traits vary professor to professor and less school to school...regardless if anyone wouldn't mind giving me their 'two cents' I would appreciate it. My work (which I will be able to document and post at the end of June) is primarily large scale and on canvas, colors vidid with a thorough amount of thought given to what compliments I use and in what amount, while i am a contemporary painter I respect the work of the impressionist movement, abstract expressionism, with an emphasis on the gee's bend quilts. if you would like to view some low res. images of my work (some resolved) but most are in progress you can view them here: allandygon.tumblr.com edit: only the two most recent posts are of current works in progress, older works won't be included in my portfolio. please pardon the image quality again as they have been photographed terribly Thanks for your time and I look forward to reading what you have to say!
