Hi everyone,
I'm planning to apply this year to the MPA ID at Harvard. Most of the people who get accepted have 3-4 years of work experience, and the HKS admission pages states that they occasionaly take people with no experience, but that it's not a common thing.
Right now I have one year of full-time work experience + one internship and a year of a part-time research assistant job. All of them were good positions and in the fields of development and politics. My intention is to apply this December (2012) for the 2013-2015 program. If I get accepted I would start the program with 2 years of full-time work experience. I'm confident that my GRE scores will be high, and my recs and the university where I come from (I'm an international student) are also quite prestigious in my country. What do you think are my chances in terms of work experience?
BTW, I was already accepted at LSE for one of their economcs courses (2012-2013) but I rejected the offer because I didn't know what I wanted when I applied. [this won't happen with the MPA ID ]
Cheers everyone!
