  1. Thanks for the replies. What I was basing my hope on are a few lines on the nsfgrfp.org webpage: I will wait a few weeks and ask them if Physical Sciences to Engineering can be considered a gross field change.
  2. Did anyone successfully write an eligibility essay this year? I am in my second year of grad school, but switched from physics undergrad to MSE grad and am wondering if I can apply again (would be my second time).
  3. If you already have a contractual agreement with your university regarding funding from your advisor (your acceptance letter presumably), why would the NSF GRFP negate that? Additionally, for what it's worth you also would be pulling an 10.5k for your department in this situation since they were already waiving your tuition.
  4. I thought this my distract people while they are waiting: from: http://www.nsf.gov/pubs/1997/nsf9726/nsf9726.pdf (Information For Coordinating Officials link listed on http://www.nsf.gov/funding/pgm_summ.jsp?pims_id=6201) "7. Supplementation of Stipend by Fellowship Institution The institution may, if it deems such action desirable, augment NSF Fellows
  5. Those with funding already, will the NSF stack for you?
