Honestly, after receiving the Ohio State offer on Sunday---A FULL MONTH after their "wave," I would say, it's not over til it's over (i.e.: you've received an official rejection). That being said, I think there were five UMich acceptances posted on Friday and two on Saturday so I don't think it bodes well for those of us that are still in the wind, but don't give up hope.
Michigan is killing me! It's my top pick and it feels like they're taking FOREVER. Last year they sent out admission notices Feb 18th-21st, so hopefully we're not in for much more of a wait.
I think it's likely that we'll see another batch from Yale tomorrow (they sent out acceptances over two days, on the 5th and 6th, last year). After that though, I think we have to write it off.
I feel sick.
I couldn't get an answer on when acceptances would go out, just how many there were (and that none of them are in African history, in the event that that affects anyone here). If they go out this week, factor in transit time for USPS. Ugh.
Stop yelling at me
For U-W Madison applicants, I have word that they're extending 54 offers of admission. Sizable group; makes me kind of concerned for funding
I don't understand why something like this is done over the course of a couple of days. I mean, if DGS is just hitting the "send" button on a few emails, why the delay?
On a related note, I had a dream last night that I got a rejection from Yale. I woke up nauseous and began obsessively checking my email. I'm not enjoying this process.
UW-Madison does snail mail as well. Seems cruel at this stage in the game.
If last year is any indication, three of the six programs to which I've applied could drop acceptances this week. I. am. freaking. out.
Princeton sent out acceptances last year on the 7th and 8th of February (so you may still have a couple of weeks to go), though NEN might have a better sense of when you might expect to hear back.
Bean, I thought your app was still "pending" as well. Did you get an admission offer?
RNG, what is your specialization within European history, out of curiosity?
Beyond what's been posted, I haven't heard anything one way or the other; but it's likely. I mean, last year people were posting acceptances for OSU through Weds of next week. It looks like what we might call "the second round" came on the 28th last year.
