aspirations

Hi I am a practicing social worker who wants to use the knowledge of Political Science for understanding some of the social issues I have come across. I have recently become inclined towards range of political activities pursued by citizens to articulate and negotiate their issues within the domain of local politics in a developing country(without denying its linkages with national and global politics)and published a paper in that country's leading journal, on a related topic, as well. The paper was then picked up as a chapter by a reputed international publishing house too. Do you think any of the universities here in US will entertain someone from social work background into their political science graduate program? I am not looking for universities with best brand name or job placement but just someone to appreciate where I am coming from and provide decent inputs. Thanks a ton!

I have recently become inclined towards range of socio-political activities pursued by citizens to articulate and negotiate their issues and the role of their social status (identity) in such processes. I have also published a paper in that country's leading journal, on a related topic, as well. The paper was then picked up as a chapter by a reputed international publishing house too. Do you think any of the universities here in US will entertain someone from social work background into their sociology graduate program?
