[NSERC 2014-2015 anybody???]

My university forwarded the NSERC application, but the status on NSERC website shows received in stead of approved. Is this normal? According to NSERC's website, applications forwarded by universities should show approved while applications submitted directly by applicants should show received.

Is anyone whose application was forwarded by the university also has the received instead of approved status?

[US citizen studying abroad eligibility for NIH or NSF predoctoral fellowship]

Hello everyone,

I am a US citizen doing my PhD abroad and I am wondering if any one knows whether the NSF or the NIH provide predoctoral fellowships to US citizens doing their PhDs outside the US. My field of study allows me to apply for either NSF or NIH.
