  1. Hey KEP0709, where do you live in relation to the New York Fulbright office? Can you post here when you've heard from Hungary? I live outside of San Francisco, so the news will likely arrive to nearly everyone else first.
  2. I feel your pain. It's been the same situation for Hungary. I heard from Rachel Holskin that the majority of people for Hungary haven't received their letters yet, but a few people were mailed letters nearly 2 weeks ago. Apparently this can happen when there is some holdup from the FSB. The rest of the Hungary letters were supposed to be sent out yesterday. Since I still haven't heard from Hungary, I don't know if this is a good sign or not.
  3. Thanks for posting this, becoo! I've applied to Hungary myself but live in Northern California, so no word yet but I'll be looking in the mail! Hope you got good news!
  4. nemolover, are you at Stanford? I'm there right now myself doing a Master's in Computational and Mathematical Engineering. If things don''t work out, are you thinking of applying for Fulbright again next year?
  5. Sorry to hear about the engineering project alternate, nemolover - if anything I'd think they'd prefer something other than another humanities project. I also proposed a non-humanities project (Math in Hungary) but have yet to get the verdict. Anyone know if certain countries are in general more friendly to engineering/physical science projects?
  6. Like so many others it seems, I couldn't take the wait any longer and contacted Rachel Holskin, the coordinator for Fulbright Europe (except Germany) , regarding notification time for Hungary Fulbright Applicants. I got something of a strange answer though ... She told me that 5 people had been confirmed for grants and that their letters would be going out this week, however the others would not be contacted yet. Hungary is supposed to have a total of 8 Full Grants available according to the Fulbright website. I asked her how many grants she expected to be awarded and she said between 7-8. This makes me a bit confused. Is it typical for the FSB to not make primary decisions on a country all at once? From the previous posts on the board, it seemed like all applicants to a specific country normally hear about their status around the same time. Does anyone have any insight here?
  7. Still waiting on notification for a research grant to Hungary. This is becoming a bit painful ...
  8. Hi Everyone, I've applied to Hungary for a Research Grant. Has anyone heard anything from Hungary yet? Best of luck to all!
