I haven't lived in Atlanta before, but when I visited, many people said that living without a car is possible; they have a tech trolley and other various transportation that takes you across campus. I heard decent things about on campus grad housing (anyone agree/disagree?), which may be a good option for those without a car.

I'm heading to Georgia Tech this Fall and I'm excited about it!!! Any suggestions/comments about housing (i'm considering an off campus apartment), life in Atlanta, or anything else?

I'm chemical engineering too, still being considered. Perhaps we are speculating too much. Its out of our hands.

Didn't get the fellowship, but got positive feedback: E/E VG/VG VG/VG Does anyone know what getting at least an HM entails? Is E the best score possible? Congrats to everyone who got it this year! Very competitive bunch we are.

Applying to PhD program: North Carolina State, ChE...waiting Vanderbilt, ChE...waiting Auburn, ChE...waiting Ohio State, MSE...waiting Carnegie Mellon, MSE...waiting Georgia Tech, Chemistry...waiting I know OSU has gotten back to some people but has anyone heard from the rest?

Unfortunately, I can't tell you where to apply--you have to find programs that relate to your research interests. There's no such thing as safety, and reaches when it comes to PhD. And, in my opinion, as long as you have the research background and calculus, transition into BME from pure sciences is possible.
