Hello everyone,

I'm freaking out as I haven't heard anything from UT Health, SPH, DrPH Program. I applied 01DEC17, received SOPHAS Notification about a week later, and a few days after I received notification that UT Health, School of Public Health had received my application. I have not heard a thing since then; the problem is I'm in finishing up my MPH and am taking all Sociology classes this semester, and most who have applied to Doctorate Programs are being accepted left and right. I know we are in different fields and there are different considerations, but I'm officially freaking now.

Retired U.S. Navy and Marine Corps, Public Health, Infectious Disease. VA Tele-Health Technician, Infectious Disease. CDC Internship, Atlanta, GA. Summer'17. Grad GPA: 3.8something, GRE Scores sucked.

Hey! I'm in the same boat, but I am reapplying (applied unsuccessfully during the Fall 2016 cycle). I did not hear anything back until the 3rd week of February (February 20th to be exact) last time, so don't sweat it. I think PH schools take their sweet time; most people do not get admissions decisions until mid-to-late February. Good luck!

Thanks, DraPHt2016!

Did they provide any feedback as to why you weren't accepted? This is my first time applying to anything super fancy like this so I really have no idea what to expect.

Unfortunately no. They told me I could I contact the Dean of Students (at the time); however, despite several emails she never responded. When I asked who I should reach out to for this application cycle, I was told that she was no longer with the university so I assumed there was no way to get feedback.

Also, got an email today saying that my application was received, is currently being reviewed, and the review time can take up to 4-8 weeks. Did you get one? I already got an email saying my application was received back in December so idk what this is about.

Yup! I got an email yesterday about application received - I called because I was about to become infuriated if they were just starting the process. I too got a similar, if not the same, email in December. I talked to Elvis Prada who said my app was still in process, and Doctoral student applications take longer than any other department - he gave reasoning, but my immediate thought was, “BS”. He said if we are admitted, he gets notification, and he sends out email to student within 24 to 48hrs with a MyUTH log in info to accept offer of admission. So....I’m still concerned, I think I’d be reading more from DrPH applicants on Student Doctor Network or here. Once again, it seems like only time will tell.

UNC Chapel Hill - accepted a person on DrPH Thread in Student Doctor Network.

Was it to the DrPH program? I got my first rejection from them last week :(. Are you only applying to UT?
