hki Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 I'd like to cast my net wide. Anyway, if I need to be more specific, currently my main interest is in hyperbolic PDEs.
OptimisticCynic Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 UCLA and NYU are both strong in PDEs. A good starting place would be this list: https://www.usnews.com/best-graduate-schools/top-science-schools/applied-mathematics-rankings Also, ask the MathematicsGRE forum.
nothing2211 Posted February 18, 2018 Posted February 18, 2018 Hyperbolic pdes ( systems of conservation law) is a dead subject. I think Bressan and his group has solved most big problems in the field. From what people told me, Bressan has stopped doing hyperbolic pdes and is doing pdes in math bio now. Regarding PDEs, any top 10 schools except harvard has a strong group in pdes. However, i don't know if anyone is still doing hyperbolic pdes.
