professorwannabe Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Has anyone heard back from them? Their website says they review doctoral applications in early january, but I haven't heard anything. Debating calling versus waiting it out, but was hoping someone else had heard something? Anyone?... bueller?
hda Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 I applied to the Community Health Science PhD at Tulane and I had a phone interview at the end of January, and since then I've heard nothing. The professor told me that there is very limited funding and essentially all of the departments in the SPH nominate students for the same award. Maybe the school is determining funding first, then sending out all admits? professorwannabe 1

Maybe the school is determining funding first, then sending out all admits? Thanks hda. That's reassuring. I was just getting concerned because the 'results search' thing didn't turn up anything from this year - OR from years past, and I haven't been able to find info anywhere else. The other thing is that I got an invite to their spring open house which apparently they send out to anyone who is interested in tulane, not just students who applied. I'm not sure if I should go, not sure if it influences their decision. I don't want to be the only applicant there and find out there that I'm rejected, but I also don't want to be the only applicant that's on the fence that doesn't go and then gets rejected! How stressful!

Found out no longer reviewing applications for Fall 2010, am now being considered for 2011. SOPHAS took too long to process application even though I submitted it well before deadline. hda Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 I did see that, hmmm maybe I should email them. I haven't been super concerned because I'm most likely going somewhere else and since the prof told me there is only 1 available scholarship (which is competitive school-wide, not just the department). I definitely can't go without funding!
