psybr Posted March 11, 2018 Posted March 11, 2018 Hi there! I'm a registered Psychiatrist in my country, Brazil. I consider changing for a academic path in philosophy. My Medical school grades would be equivalent to a 2:1 and my Psychiatry grades would be equivalent to a high 2:1. I don't have any formal background in Philosophy, although I participated in a phenomenology study group for over 3 years. I was really impressed with Oxford's BPhil but I don't see any chances of being accepted without a formal philosophical background. Am I right? A possible solution would be to apply to KCL's Philosophy of Medicine & Psychiatry MA, and, if everything goes as planned, apply for Oxford's BPhil afterwards. Does this plan makes sense? Is a previous MA good for a BPhil application? Thanks for your attention, Best,
