JonesJubilee Posted March 13, 2018 Posted March 13, 2018 (edited) I applied to graduate school - met all of the requirements and submitted everything on time. Then today, I received an email stating that my dept is sending me a follow up email asking me to complete a writing sample in which I now have two days to complete (timed 30 minute link). The thing is...there isn't an initial email from them - they didn't send one and I am pretty sure they think I just didn't follow through. I plan on completing it tomorrow AM, but I have a sour taste in my mouth. Additionally, a writing sample is not a posted part of their process and it just feels really unnecessary (high GPA, good recommendations, work experience with awards, strong GRE). What is next, and expected, after this is an interview...which just feels a bit awkward now (assuming I get it). Anyone else had a similar "new admissions requirement" and any advice?
