I'm leaning toward Umich as the better of the two schools here, but I would love to hear other opinions on the matter. I'll be focusing on HCI while at the university of michigan school of information. The one draw maryland has so far is it's closeness to DC if I wanted to position myself to potentially do technology policy later in life - otherwise michigan seems to have the more prestigious program.

Any thoughts would be welcome and appreciated!

If you are trying to focus on HCI, you should definitely go Maryland HCIM.

Michigan's HCI curriculum requires many courses not related to HCI but also data analysis and coding.
