Some guy in the search result section of this forum claimed that changing the application_status part of the URL to viewstatus, one could view his/her status. I also saw and found a denial letter dated 30, December 1899. What is the validity of the letter?

How can someone be sure that it's not a default letter for those whose application not yet reviewed? FYI, someone also claimed that he found acceptance status by changing the url.

Can anyone clearly explain about this? I will be disappointed if it is right. Thanks in advance.

I looked too and found a rejection letter; it had the name of the department I applied to but not the major I applied for - there was just a comma there and mine too was dated Ded 30 1899. My first hope too was that it's a default letter that needs to be filled in before it's sent out and I don't understand why they wouldn't just send it out if they are ready to reject me (seeing as how they've already rejected someone from my program). Also, I don't see why they'd hold on to an acceptance letter because they would not want someone they accepted to get accepted somewhere else they prefer, first. I don't know but I feel your pain. This makes the wait so much worse because I don't know what to think. UCSD is my top choice :(

I was accepted to UCSD a couple weeks ago. I went ahead and checked and it was a rejection letter dated today. I don't think it means anything.

Thank you so much!
