I was just accepted to an MSEd program at Columbia Teacher's College, and I noticed that their admitted student weekend is not until April 9th. Since the program did not require an interview, I have not had a chance to speak with any professors or students in person about the program, or even see the campus. I am nervous about waiting until next month to visit the school, because it is so close to my decision deadline (April 15). I am currently about a 4 hour trip from Columbia, so I could visit before the admitted student weekend, but it would be a bit of trouble getting there. Do you think it is essential that I speak with faculty in person before deciding on a program? I'm sorry if this is a silly question, but this is my first time applying to grad school (and my first acceptance!), so I'm a little confused about the best thing to do.
