myorston Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 So here's a typical forum question - what to choose between 2 apparently excellent choices. I have been admitted to both the Berkeley IEOR and the Stanford MS&E programs (both Masters). Money is not an issue since I have a full scholarship regardless of which option I take (internaitonal student). Although both programs may appear to be quite different, my main interest is the technology aspect, specifically related to entrepreneurship. Berkeley has the Management of Technology Program and Stanford has something similar. I'm not too concerened about employment opportunities once I graduate because my plan is to return to my current company (technology firm I co-founded) and apply my new knowledge there. Therefore I would say that my main priorities are: - Quality of the courses - Focus on entrepreneurship - Networking opportunities Any feedback regarding this interesting dilemma will be much appreciated!
AdiRadi Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 So what did you choose and how did it turn out? I worked with a start-up this summer. I am planning on joining them once I get my phD.
Berross Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Myostorn, I'm in the same situation you were in four years ago. What did you choose? Why? And retrospectively, would you have made the same choice? I don't have high hopes on receiving a reply, but if anyone else has something to say I'm listening! Thanks
