Can I seek further funding if I am holding NSERC PDF?

$40,000 per year is pretty low, considering taxes and that my dream place is a school in California.

Anyone knows if one can seek further funding from future supervisor while holding a NSERC PDF?

Yes, I'm pretty sure that your supervisor is allowed to pay you on top of your NSERC PDF salary, as long as you're being paid for the same work you're already doing. I've known NSERC PDFs who were able to improve their income by lecturing, so unless the policy has changed a lot, I can't imagine this as a problem.

Many thanks, bhdavis! So there is no limit on the money you receive on top of NSERC PDF? and it is possible to apply for other paid postdoc positions and still hold a PDF? sounds too good to be true ;P
