only-time Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 (edited) Hi everybody, Have anyone gotten offer from Graduate School of Biological Sciences of Mount Sinai School of Medicine? I'm an international student, I got the offer two weeks ago. Is there anyone know anything more about the program and the institution? How about this institution in the eyes of those who came to on-campus interview? I am looking forward to any kind information. Edited March 17, 2010 by only-time
only-time Posted March 18, 2010 Author Posted March 18, 2010 Anyone knows anything special about Mount Sinai School of Medicine? Academia, Life and Neighborhood... any information is highly expected. Thanks a lot.
isitFriday? Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 I'll be joining in your inquiry, only-time. I couldn't go to the on-campus interview either so I did phone interviews this weekend. I dunno when the decisions will be out, but I'm seriously considering Mt. Sinai. I think I could answer the life and neighborhood portion of your questions, though. I have been to New York City in the past, and if you are not used to the big city life then you'll have some major adjusting to do. The school is in the Upper East Side, so there's some really good cultural places (e.g. museums) around, and everything else is basically a stone's throw due to the metro system. I also believe they offer housing near the school campus, but I dunno how cheap that is compared to, I guess, living across the bridge in Brooklyn or NJ.

As for housing, MSSM actually offers subsidized one that nears its campus. I believe the rental price must be reasonable. By the way, since you say you are seriously considering MSSM, I am wondering what aspects of MSSM make it so attractive for you? Would you mind sharing something with me?
