glatss Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 Does anyone have an opinion on the pros and cons to Johns Hopkins Institute for Public Policy in comparison to the School of Public Policy at the University of Maryland? They seem to both be great programs and while the cache of Hopkins is certainly a lot stronger, Maryland seems to have a lot going for it and a number of very notable profs... Any thoughts/reactions from others making the same decision would be very helpful!

Any thoughts/reactions from others making the same decision would be very helpful! I too have a similar dilemma. I got accepted in both UMD and Johns Hopkins' MPP programs. I too would like to know which of the two is a better program in terms of future prospects? I haven't yet heard on the financial aid from UMD, but JHU is offering a meager yearly tuition. Even if I were to accept JHU's offer, my out of pocket expense will still be more than what I will be paying at UMD, without financial aid. I too need help in understanding which of the two is better, if one is to commit such huge finances.
