Hello All,

I see that MPP and MPA/ID applicants have already learned of their results from the Admissions Committee. Any MPA2 applicants out there with updates?

I applied to HKS as an MPA2 applicant. Last year, I believe MPA2s got their results March 26/27, which was quite late and many folks complained... I am hoping we will find out soon! The wait is excruiating!

Do you think that HKS will inform us tomorrow? If you think about it... MPPs found out March 18th, MPA/IDs found out March 19th, so MPA2's will find out tomorrow?

From,

Anxious MPA2 Applicant

I am also an MPA2 applicant. I haven't received any news yet, which is of course normal since we're the last to know the results.

Focusing on the inbox would probably just make it difficult for us to concentrate on our present tasks. So, try not to be anxious. Think of it this way: the worst you can get is merely a rejection, which is no big harm to life. The best you can get is a ticket to Harvard, which is quite pleasant of course but the thrill will certainly amortize by the end of the first term when you're rushing to finish 4 final papers at the same time. :)

If you ask me, I would guess that they'll tell us on Monday; if not, probably some time next week. Not a big difference. Enjoy the week!

Anyone heard back from AdComm regarding MPA2 results? I guess there are not too many MPA2 applicants this year. Not too many folks posting about it...

What exactly is the criteria for the MPA2? I understand that the admissions requirements now includes "substantial graduate level coursework." Can anyone clarify what this means? Thanks.

In practice, it means most of the MPAs already hold advanced or professional degrees - MBAs, JDs, etc. Many joint-degrees do the MPP because at the time they apply, this criterion does not apply, but for those who did one other degree and only later decided to pursue policy, the MPA acknowledges their existing expertise and allows them more flexibility than the MPP requirements during their time doing government studies.

Yikes. Still no word from AdComm.

Yes, to apply to the MPA2 program, one would need to have completed some form of graduate coursework. There are many folks who apply to the MBA/MPA2 joint-degree program too. MPA2s don't have to do the rigorous core coursework that MPPs complete, because it is assumed that MPA2s have already demonstrated knowledge and mastery in certain subjects (graduate-level Economics, for example).

Hi,

For those who were accepted in the MPA2 program....what type of graduate studies do you have? Do you know if the CFA degree meets the requirement for the MPA2?
