nancyvanala Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 Hi everyone, I am Nancy and I have applied the IMC of Northwestern. I have been put on a waiting list for a week. I really wanna study there. I love Chicago! Are there anyone who got an AD from this program or you have already decided to reject the offer? What should I do right now? How can I possibly get the admission? I am really grateful for your help!
digits2006 Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 First, have you emailed your POI or the graduate director and ask them questions about being wait listed. You need to know if they have ranked the wait list, if so, what position are you. How many people did they offer admissions to. Update them on anything new that has happened since you submitted your application. Tell them that you are excited about the possibility of working with them if accepted.

In addition to this, I believe you may want to submit a document to the department called a statement of continued interest. I recommend asking about this. Multiple Infusions 1

They told me that they don't have ranks and they will review profiles before the decision. They don't tell me how many students in the pool... Will it be too early to write to them about my strong interests? Will it be better if I do this around April 15th? Thanks for you reply again.
nancyvanala Posted March 23, 2010 Author Posted March 23, 2010 In addition to this, I believe you may want to submit a document to the department called a statement of continued interest. I recommend asking about this. Yes, that is a great idea! Is there any certain format for this document? Or is it just like personal statement? Have you ever written something like this before? Thank you very much!

Have you ever written something like this before? Thank you very much! I have only heard of this from a friend, but I believe it is similar to a personal statement. Just express your strong desire to attend the particular institution and give some very specific reasons why (i.e., who you want to work with, why it is particularly important to get into this school, etc.). My approach with this would be the same as my approach with my personal statement; advertize yourself well, but don't gloat and show immense interest, but don't sound desperate. Good luck
