Overcoming adversity statement with tough topics?

Hi! 

My statement has some generally taboo topics that people advise against writing about, and I was wondering if anyone would be willing to read it and let me know if I’ve done it well enough to work. I didn’t use them as excuses, I wanted them to really demonstrate who I am as a person.
