parapluie Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Hey! I'm going for the Fall semester i Historical Archaeology. Anyone else going there too? Hi Meg! I'm also going to UMass Boston this upcoming fall. I just found out last night! I am still coming down from the high haha. I am going for a M.Ed./Ed.S. in School Psychology. It is the only school I applied so and I can't believe it worked out! Are you familiar with the area at all?
karma897 Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 Hi, I'm considering the Applied Sociology program at UMass Boston and am looking at moving to Boston from the Twin Cities in MN. Any input on U Mass's reputation in terms of their graduate programs?

Any input on U Mass's reputation in terms of their graduate programs? Hi Karma, I don't know anything about the reputation of that program at all, unfortunately I know it is totally different, but the School Psych program is very well respected within the school systems around here. I would hope that carries over to the quality of the other graduate programs at UMass Boston. What I really mean to say is, it is not somewhere that is not well respected.
meg0822 Posted March 26, 2010 Author Posted March 26, 2010 Hey Karma, Like the previous poster I don't know about that specific program but I can tell you that I am in grad school now in Florida but I'm transferring to UMass Boston because the program isn't what I was expecting in terms of research, and I was told by my professor here that if I got in I should most definitely go. That in it of itself says something. I hope that helps!

Unfortunately I'm not familiar with the area. I am looking all over to find information about where to live in Boston. Do you know any good sites?
karma897 Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Thanks, I just see other posts on here which go against UMass Boston because of the rep which some of the other campuses have, Maybe you could check with UMass Boston to see if they have some info on living in Boston, if i remember correctly there is an office which can help with that otherwise there are forums on here which talk about living in the area. Good Luck
