Research Assistantships-MPH

Hello beautiful people,

I am wondering how you would go about asking for a research assistantship for MPH program to a professor. I have an extensive research background in biochemistry and molecular biology and would like to be involved in some kind of research in grad school. I did email one of the professors about the assistantship after I received my acceptance from one of the schools I applied for (and received a small scholarship (not much), so being an RA would definitely help with bills as well.)

Any insights or personal experiences would be appreciated!

I don't have experience with research in grad school, but I did do Independent Research while in Undergrad at UofT. 

I approached one of my professors. We didn't know each other very well at the time, but he at least knew who I was. I told him about my research idea, and he put me in contact with another professor. They ended up co-supervising my research project.
